Somalia: Authority publishes various forms, including data breach report form
On March 13, 2024, the Somali data protection authority (the Authority) published various forms on its website for data controllers, data processors, and individuals involved in the data protection structure of an organization. In particular, the Authority published the following documents:
- registration form - for data controllers and data processors to fill and used by the Authority to collect information from entities that handle personal data as part of compliance requirements under the Data Protection Act (DPA);
- complaint form - a complaint handling form as a formal mechanism that allows individuals to report concerns or lodge complaints to the Authority about how their personal data is being processed, handled, or protected by an organization;
- data breach report form - a standardized document used to notify the authority about a data breach incident in order for data controllers and data processors to meet the requirement of reporting data breaches to the Authority according to the DPA; and
- data protection officer form - a formal application used by individuals who wish to be certified or recognized as data protection officers under the DPA.
