Summary: The US Virgin Islands at present do not have a general privacy act. However, they have their own data breach requirements under §2208-2209 of Chapter 110 of Title 14 of the Virgin Islands Code Annotated (the Data Breach Requirements). Pursuant to the Data Breach Requirements, residents must be notified if their unencrypted personal information has been, or is reasonably believed to have been, acquired by an unauthorized person. The Data Breach Requirements are enforced by means of a private right of action by consumers. The US Virgin Islands does not have a regulator of privacy.
