Summary: Montserrat is a British Overseas Territory and currently does not have a general data protection law. However, the Constitution of Montserrat guarantees the protection of private and family life and privacy of home and other property.
Further, Montserrat is a member state to the Caribbean Financial Action Task Force (CFATF), the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) which provides information on consumer protection matters, and the inter-governmental Organization of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS). The OECS, in harmonizing and encouraging the adoption of common policies, also provides and assists its members in legislative matters by providing example laws such as a Data Protection Bill or an Electronic Crimes Bill through the E-Government for Regional Integration Project.
