Law: There is no general personal data protection law.

Regulator: There is no data protection authority.

Summary: While there is no general data protection law in Cambodia, a draft data protection law and a draft cybercrime law are in development.

In addition, there have been recent legislative developments addressing relevant areas. In particular, the E-Commerce Law (only available in Khmer here) and the Consumer Protection Law (only available in Khmer here), both enacted on November 2, 2019, regulate the storage of electronic data and establish requirements for consent and the protection of consumer rights in certain circumstances.
