Summary: Mecklenburg-Vorpommern implemented the GDPR through the State Data Protection Act of May 22, 2018 (DSG M-V) (only available in German here) which came into effect on May 25, 2018.
The DSG M-V provides for derogations from the GDPR and data protection requirements within Meklenburg-Vorpommern. These include limitations on certain data subject rights, special purposes of processing, such as processing in the employment context, and exemptions for the public sector. The Mecklenburg-Vorpommern data protection authority (the LfDI Mecklenburg-Vorpommern) is the supervisory authority under the DSG M-V. The DSG M-V has issued a few opinions and guidance, including on data subject rights and cyber attacks.
