BES Islands: CBP BES summarises 2016 guidelines and announces 2017 priorities
The BES Islands' Commission for the Supervision of Data Protection ('CBP BES') published on, 6 February 2017, a summary of previously issued guidelines on various topics such as the use of surveillance cameras in the workplace, the lawful screening of candidates by employers, the CBP BES' role as a regulator, and its 2017 priorities. In particular, the CBP BES announced that in 2017 it will be focusing on data protection compliance while providing services in areas such as telecommunications, banking, education and service provision to the government.
