Hawaii: House bill for consumer health data passes second reading
On February 29, 2024, House Bill 1566 relating to consumer health data passed the second reading in the Hawaii House of Representatives and was placed on the calendar for the third reading. In particular, the bill was amended by the Judiciary and Hawaiian Affairs, and Health and Homelessness Committees. The bill states that its purpose is to close the gap between consumer knowledge and industry practice by providing privacy protections for Hawaii residents and their consumer health data.
