On December 6, 2024, the National Office for Cyber and Information Security (NÚKIB) announced that a resolution was published on November 14, 2024, where the State Security Council approved the National Policy for the Cryptographic Protection of Classified Information from 2024 to 2030, with a view towards 2040. The policy outlines strategic directions for the development of cryptographic protection for classified information.
The NÚKIB developed this policy under Section 137a(g) of Act No. 412/2005 Coll. to address the persistent cyber and other threats affecting information and communication systems that handle classified data. The NÚKIB explained that the policy aims to guide the development of cryptographic protection while adapting to evolving threats.
Furthermore, the NÚKIB stated that an implementation plan will be prepared in 2025, translating the policy objectives into concrete steps.
