Brunei Darussalam: AMDB and MAS sign MoU to expand cooperation in financial services

The Autoriti Monetari Brunei Darussalam ('AMBD') and the Monetary Authority of Singapore ('MAS') signed, on 22 January 2020, an enhanced Memorandum of Understanding ('MoU') on Bilateral Cooperation. In particular, the MoU introduces, among other things, new areas of cooperation in cross-border supervision of financial services, anti-money laundering and combating the financing of terrorism, and crisis management. Furthermore, the press release noted that the AMBD and MAS discussed recent financial developments, FinTech collaboration and currency management.
