Moldova: NCPDP publishes newsletter on its activity for 2024 third quarter
On November 1, 2024, the National Center for the Protection of Personal Data (NCPDP) published its newsletter no. 19 highlighting its activities in the third quarter of 2024. The newsletter outlines the NCPDP's training efforts, investigations, and enforcement actions during the reference period.
The NCPDP stated that it continued to provide data protection training sessions tailored to various groups, including police officers, students, and healthcare personnel. In this regard, the NCPDP trained representatives from various institutions on the processing of special categories of personal data, principles and legal bases for the processing of personal data, data subject rights, and legal obligations relevant to their professional duties.
Regarding investigations, the NCPDP noted that it conducted 86 verifications of compliance on personal data processing operations, and issued 87 decisions of which violations of the legal provisions were found in 36 cases and 40 cases were submitted to court for settlement. In the newsletter, the NCPDP also highlighted notable enforcement actions taken by data protection authorities in Lithuania, Sweden, and the Netherlands.
