Turkey: KVKK publishes an information note on chatbots
On November 8, 2024, the Personal Data Protection Authority (KVKK) published an information note on chatbots (ChatGPT Example). The KVKK highlighted that chatbots, which have been discussed frequently in recent years, are trying to provide interaction between humans and technology. While providing this interaction, chatbots are intensively active in collecting and processing personal data. In this context, the information note was prepared to better understand the points where chatbots come into contact with personal data.
The information note covers what artificial intelligence (AI) chatbots do, what personal data is processed through these bots, and what to consider when developing chatbot applications.
You can read the press release here and the information note here, both only available in Turkish.
