Thuringia: TLfDI issues guidance on privacy in the gastronomy sector during Coronavirus

The Thuringian State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information ('TLfDI') issued, on 18 June 2020, guidance ('the Guidance') on privacy requirements in the gastronomy sector during COVID-19 ('Coronavirus'). In particular, the Guidance states that all customers must be informed about the collection of their personal data via signs in the entrance area or leaflets. Moreover, the Guidance outlines that the lists containing personal data must be kept confidential and not be accessible by third parties. Finally, the Guidance states that it is under no circumstances permissible to require guests to download the Corona-Warn-App in order to enter the premises.
