Russia: National Center for AI announces publication of first memorandum on AI use in education

On July 10, 2024, the National Center for Artificial Intelligence Development under the Government of the Russian Federation (National Center for AI) announced that Tyumen State University (TSU) and the Center for Education Transformation of the Skolkovo Moscow School of Management have published a memorandum on the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in higher education.

The press release outlines that the memorandum formulates the principles of integrating AI into the educational process, including reinforcing the capacity of students to creatively use and develop AI as a working tool, as well as transforming the role of the teacher to train students and teachers in AI skills and the automation of routine processes.

Lastly, the press release highlights that the memorandum contributes to the transformation of the university management system and the development of inter-university cooperation.
