Qinghai: Communications Administration announces centralised rectification of camera network security

The Provincial Communications Administration of Qinghai announced, on 15 September 2021, that it had organised a special campaign for the centralised rectification of camera network security in the information and communications industry across the province. In particular, the Communications Administration highlighted that the rectification is meant to combat violations of laws and regulations such as the use of camera security vulnerabilities to infringe on citizens' personal privacy, and to safeguard citizens' legitimate rights and interests in cyberspace. More specifically, the Communications Administration noted that the rectification will, among other things, supervise industries to ensure good system grading and filing, ensure they are conducting risk assessments, normalise the security management of cameras, and eliminate hidden dangers of camera network security.
