Africa: Data protection authorities' working arrangements following Coronavirus impact

Multiple data protection authorities within Africa are implementing operational restrictions and special circumstances for contacting them either by phone or electronic means and avoiding personal visits to their offices during the COVID-19 ('Coronavirus') pandemic.

Morocco

The Moroccan data protection authority ('CNDP') announced, on 16 March 2020, that, in order to continue providing its services, any notifications, complaints, and letters should be sent by email, in addition to submission by post.

Senegal

The Senegalese data protection authority ('CDP') announced, on 23 March 2020, that it would be temporarily suspending its physical presence in its office. However, the CDP noted that it would remain available online for complaints, notifications, declarations, and requests for opinions.
