Cambodia: MoI announces discussion on draft cybercrime law
The Ministry of Interior ('MoI') announced, on 9 December 2019, that its legislative council was continuing discussions on the draft cybercrime law ('the Draft Law'). In particular, the MoI noted that the Draft Law is intended to ensure the integrity of computer systems management, protect data and individual liberties, support public order, and prevent cybercrime. In addition the MoI outlined that the Draft Law's provisions would apply to relevant IT infringements inside or outside Cambodia.

MoI announces further discussions on the Draft Law
The MoI announced, on 22 January 2020, that further discussions of the Draft Law had taken place. In particular, the MoI noted that the representatives of the US Department of Justice, the US Embassy in Cambodia, and the US Federal Bureau of Invesigation had attended the most recent meetings.
