Colorado's Bill on AI: Protecting consumers in interactions with AI systems
Colorado has passed landmark legislation regulating the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) Systems. If signed by the Governor, the Act will go into effect on February 1, 2026, making Colorado the first US state to regulate AI systems in this way. The Act introduces requirements for developers and deployers of AI systems that are determined to be 'high-risk' in an effort to prevent discrimination through the use of those systems.
