Manitoba: Government opens consultation on PHIA

The Health, Seniors and Active Living Minister, Kelvin Goertzen, and the Sport, Culture and Heritage Minister, Rochelle Squires, announced, on 29 March 2017, the opening of a public consultation by the Manitoba Government on the Personal Health Information Act 1997 ('PHIA').

Goertzen commented, "The review of PHIA will help ensure Manitoba is getting the balance right between respecting personal health information and ensuring patient needs are being met."

The public consultation closes on 31 May 2017. Submissions may be sent by email to [email protected] or mailed to the Manitoba Government PHIA Legislative Review Unit.
