Shenzhen: Congress announces Regulations on Intelligent Connected Vehicles passing third trial
The Standing Committee of the Shenzhen Municipal People's Congress announced, on 5 March 2022, that the Regulations on the Administration of Intelligent Connected Vehicles in the Shenzhen Special Economic Zone have passed their third trial. In particular, the Committee highlighted that the regulations are expected to be released this year, and will be the first regional legislation to regulate the management of intelligent conntected vehicles.
More specifically, the regulations outlined the Municipal Internet Information Department will be responsible for enforcing the regulations' measures. In addition, the Committee noted that the regulations provide for the related enterprises to obtain data security testing and certification to ensure data integrity, confidentiality, and availability. Furthermore, the Committee detailed that the regulations establish that in the event of loss or damage of national security data and users' personal information, applicable enterprises must take measures to promptly notify users and report the circumstances to the Municipal Internet Information Department.
