UK: RTA and NIST publish blog post on federated learning and data protection

On November 29, 2024, the Responsible Technology Adoption Unit (RTA) announced via LinkedIn that, together with the US National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), it published a blog titled 'Data protection considerations for implementing federated learning - a regulator's perspective' on November 28, 2024. In particular, the blog features reflections from the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) and highlights that privacy-enhancing technologies (PETs) can help organizations minimize the amount of personal information they use, protect personal information, and demonstrate that they are embedding Data Protection by Design and by Default.
