Slovenia: Commissioner submits 2023 annual report to National Assembly

On May 21, 2024, the Information Commissioner submitted its annual report for 2023 to the National Assembly. The Commissioner outlined that 2023 was marked by the entry into force of the Personal Data Protection Act (ZVOP-2).

During the reporting period, the Commissioner received, handled, and advised on:

  • 1,146 requests to start an investigation procedure, of which 7 cases of unauthorized processing of personal data about patients;
  • 251 reports regarding Article 77 of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR);
  • 183 official notices about violations of the security of data;
  • 524 cooperation procedures, of which 274 the Commissioner was the concerned authority and in three the leading authority; and
  • 1,011 individuals and organizations with written opinions, 1,569 telephone consultations, and 73 conferences.
