Shenzhen: Congress requests public comment on draft Social Credit Regulation
The Shenzhen Municipal People's Congress released, on 8 July 2022, the Shenzhen Special Economic Zone Social Credit Regulations and is requesting public comments on the same. In particular, the draft regulations define information such as social credit, credit, and public credit information, and outline requirements for the collection of the same. More specifically, the draft regulations provide that the handling of credit information must comply with the provisions of relevant laws and regulations on the protection of personal information, noting that, where the handling of a natural person's credit information involves their sensitive personal information, the relevant laws and regulations on the protection of sensitive personal information must be followed. Further to this, the draft regulations provide rights for credit subjects, including the right to inquire, as well as the right to raise objections as to the authenticity, accuracy, completeness, and legality of their own credit information, among other rights.
