Senegal: CDP publishes second quarterly notice for 2024
On July 18, 2024, the Senegalese data protection authority (CDP) published its second quarterly notice for 2024. The notice outlines activities carried out by the CDP, such as examining authorization request files, collecting complaints, and visiting key players in data protection in Senegal.
In particular, the notice highlights that the CDP processed 30 files, including 15 declarations, 12 requests for authorization, and three re-registered files. Additionally, the CDP decided to suspend the decisions in three cases and prohibited the implementation of one processing operation.
The CDP also outlined that it focused on promoting awareness-raising actions through digital communication and providing training to entities such as the National Office for the Fight against Fraud and Corruption (OFNAC), as well as participating in meetings including the 46th Plenary of the Consultative Committee of Convention 108+ and the 9th Conference of the Network of African Data Protection Authorities (NAPDA).
