Russia: National Center for AI announces transfer of responsibility for AI development to Ministry of Digital Development
On August 1, 2024, the National Center for Artificial Intelligence Development under the Government of the Russian Federation (National Center for AI) announced that the Russian Prime Minister signed an order making the Ministry of Digital Development the federal executive body responsible for developing the high-tech direction of artificial intelligence (AI). The responsibility was transferred from the Ministry of Economic Development.
The order comes into force on September 1, 2024.
