What are the main objectives of the MoU?

The MoU establishes a framework for collaboration for the exchange of information, technical assistance, and the formulation of public policies and regulations on personal data protection and privacy. The MoU has four main objectives:

  • to develop non-intrusive tools for the protection of data and privacy of minors in digital environments;
  • to strengthen data protection authorities; and
  • to promote the adoption of the Ibero-American Charter of Principles and Rights in Digital Environments.
