International: Mauritius, DIFC, and Bermuda become Associate Members of Global CBPR Forum

On August 26, 2024, the Global Cross-Border Privacy Rules (CBPR) Forum (the Forum) welcomed Mauritius, the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC), and Bermuda as Associate Members of the Forum, following the Global Forum Assembly's endorsement of the Membership Committee's Recommendations that all three jurisdictions had met the conditions for recognition as Associates.

The Forum noted that the participation of Mauritius, DIFC, and Bermuda marks the expansion of the Forum into new regions and helps to ensure that the Forum's privacy certifications established in April 2024 will work for not only the Asia-Pacific region as its origin but also the global community. Further, the Forum commended the three jurisdictions' commitment to helping ensure safe cross-border data flows globally.
