Idaho: AG announces exercise of enforcement discretion over HIPAA violations

The Idaho Attorney General ('AG'), Lawrence G. Wasden, announced, on 3 April 2020, that, following the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services' Office for Civil Rights' decision to exercise an enforcement discretion, the AG will also exercise an enforcement discretion and waive potential penalties for violations of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 ('HIPAA') for health care providers that serve patients through everyday communications during the COVID-19 ('Coronavirus') outbreak.
