Greece: HDPA publishes 2022 annual report
On June 27, 2024, the Hellenic Data Protection Authority (HDPA) published its 2022 Annual Activity Report. The report provides a summary of actions taken by the HDPA in the review year as well as relevant statistics. As a summary, in 2022, the HDPA:
- imposed more than €30 million in fines (in 51 decisions);
- resolved 876 complaints;
- issued 67 decisions and five opinions; and
- received 174 data breach notifications under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and 35 under Law 3471/2006 on the Protection of Personal Data and Privacy in the Electronic Telecommunications Sector.
