Gibraltar: GRA signs MoU with Gambling Commission to strengthen cooperation

The Gibraltar Regulatory Authority ('GRA') announced, on 10 December 2020, that it had signed a Memorandum of Understanding ('MoU') with the Gibraltar Gambling Commissioner ('GGC') in order to strengthen their cooperation in light of gambling operations moving online. In particular, the GRA outlined that the aim is to facilitate cooperation and communication between both regulatory bodies, and that the GRA and GGC had agreed to the exchange of information as may be considered beneficial in the exercise of their respective regulatory functions and areas of common interest, including data security. Furthermore, the GRA indicated that the GRA and GGC ultimately intend to improve their regulatory and supervisory practices, whilst also identifying areas in which further guidance may be beneficial to industry players in order to strengthen compliance.
