Croatia: AZOP announces total amount of fines imposed in 2023
On April 24, 2024, the Personal Data Protection Agency (AZOP) announced that the EDPB's 2023 annual report showed the progress of the AZOP, especially concerning administrative fines.
According to the AZOP, in 2023 it imposed 28 administrative fines, totaling €8,266,350 which placed Croatia in 9th place in the EU in terms of the total administrative fines imposed. The AZOP noted that the two highest fines, imposed on debt collection agencies, amounting to €5.47 million and €2.26 million significantly increased the total amount compared to the previous years.
