Bulgaria: CPDP publishes November newsletter
On November 22, 2024, the Commission for Personal Data Protection (CPDP) published its November 2024 newsletter, covering the period from September 2024 to October 2024. The newsletter includes:
- events and initiatives, such as the initiatives of the European Data Protection Board (EDPB) and the objectives and next steps of the Open the Whistle: Protecting Whistleblowers Through Transparency, Cooperation, and Open Government Strategies;
- information on supervisory activities of the CPDP, such as 44 inspections and 105 requests dealt with, including various queries on topical issues relating to the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data;
- enforcement decisions issued by the CPDP; and
- opinion of the CPDP on the lawfulness of processing data on the telephone numbers and email addresses of citizens for the purpose of notifying them of the imminent expiry of their identity documents.
