Berlin: Berlin Commissioner publishes data protection guide for daycare centers
On November 21, 2024, the Berlin data protection authority (Berlin Commissioner) announced that it, along with the Senate Department for Education, Youth, and Family, presented the new digital guide for daycare centers.
The guide is a separate website that includes frequently asked questions (FAQs) and is aimed at daycare center professionals and providers, offering practical support and creating more transparency in data protection questions in everyday daycare center life. More specifically, the guide includes information on data storage, data protection considerations when taking pictures, videos, and audio recordings of children, and other important information about data protection.
You can read the press release here and the guide here, both only available in German.
