Belarus: Law on the protection of personal data enters into effect

The Law on the protection of personal data ('the PDP Law') entered into effect, on 15 November 2021, following its signing into law by the President on 7 May 2021. In particular, the PDP Law establishes basic principles for the protection of personal information that are similar to the General Data Protection Regulation (Regulation (EU) 2016/679) ('GDPR') such as the introduction of data subject rights, and obligations to persons organising or carrying, including on behalf of others, the processing of personal data.

You can read the PDP Law, only available in Russian, here.
