Belarus: Court finds draft law on personal data consistent with Constitution
The National Legal Internet Portal of the Republic of Belarus published, on 5 May 2021, the decision of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Belarus which outlines that the provisions of the draft law on personal data are consistent with the Constitution of the Republic of Belarus. In particular, the Court held that the draft law on personal data comprehensively regulates the collection and processing of personal data, protects constitutional human rights and freedoms, strengthens information security requirements, and includes necessary conditions for effective international cooperation on ensuring the right to privacy.
