Norway: Nkom publishes risk and vulnerabilities report for electronic communications sector

On October 15, 2024, the Norwegian Communications Authority (Nkom) announced that it had published its risk and vulnerabilities report for the electronic communications sector in Norway. In particular, the report analyzes threats to critical infrastructure and Nkom outlined numerous threats, including:

  • an increased risk of electronic communications providers and data center operators being exposed to threats due to the security policy situation;
  • cyber threats and the differences in how prepared companies are;
  • lack of sufficient safeguards in socially critical services against the loss of internet; and
  • an increasing threat of insider attacks that can plant malware and share sensitive information.

You can read the press release and download the report here, both only available in Norwegian.
