On May 18, 2024, the Shanghai Municipal People's Government announced that the Management Committee of the Lingang New Area of the Shanghai Free Trade Zone released a 'positive list' for cross-border data flows.
In particular, the Municipal Government highlighted that the list covers 11 scenarios such as intelligent connected vehicles, public funds, and biomedicine. The list is applicable to data processors registered in the Shanghai Free Trade Zone and Lingang New Area that conduct cross-border data flows.
