Schleswig-Holstein: ULD publishes 2023 annual activity report

On April 23, 2024, the Schleswig-Holstein data protection authority (ULD) announced that it had published its activity report for 2023.

The ULD outlined that, during the reporting period:

  • the main topics included the processing of health data, data protection in research, data transfer to third countries, scoring, chat control, and employee data protection; and
  • the ULD received:
    • 1,344 complaints (compared to 1,334 in 2022), of which 256 regarded video surveillance; and
    • 527 reports of personal data breaches (compared to 485 in 2022).

Furthermore, the ULD highlighted that many template documents regarding data protection are used without being adapted to the situation and that data protection considerations are ignored in the employment context, such as during job interviews.
