Maine: Bill for Consumer Privacy Act dies in House

On April 17, 2024, Legislative Document 1973 for An Act to Enact the Maine Consumer Privacy Act died in the House of Representatives.  

If passed, the bill would have applied to persons conducting business in Maine that produce products or services targeted to Maine residents, provided additional rights to consumers, and introduced obligations for data controllers.
