Sri Lanka: Authority extends deadline for public feedback on all draft regulations, rules, guidelines, and directives
On October 29, 2024, the Data Protection Authority of Sri Lanka (the Authority) announced that the deadline for submitting feedback on all draft regulations, rules, guidelines, and directives published on its official website has been extended to November 15, 2024.
The Authority stated that the extension was granted to ensure all stakeholders have adequate time to review the above draft documents and provide their valuable insights. The Authority explained that it is committed to developing a comprehensive and effective personal data protection framework that reflects the concerns and suggestions of the stakeholders.
The Authority encouraged all interested parties, including the public sector and private sector organizations and members of the general public, to take the opportunity to participate in shaping the future of personal data protection in Sri Lanka.
