Oman: State Council discusses the draft law on the protection of personal data
The State Council of the Sultanate of Oman ('the State Council') announced, on 12 July 2020, that it had held discussions on the Draft Law on the Protection of Personal Data ('the Draft Law'). In particular, the Draft Law consists of five chapters and includes provisions on, among other things, the role of the Ministry of Technology and Communications, the responsibility to protect the rights of personal data owners, the obligations of controllers and processors, as well as applicable sanctions.
