Jordan: Parliament releases Personal Data Protection Law of 2022
The Parliament of Jordan announced, on 2 April 2023, that the Jordanian Parliamentary Economic and Investment Committee held a meeting to discuss the Personal Data Protection Law of 2022 ('the Draft Law'). Moreover, the Parliament noted that the chairman of the Committee, Omar Al Nabul, stated that the Draft Law is considered an important law and concerns the processing of personal data. Furthermore, the Parliament highlighted that the Committee requested the attendance of the Minister of Economy and Entrepreneurship, the Minister of State for Legal Affairs, the director of the National Center for Human Rights, and other relevant stakeholders to provide them with their proposals and comments for further study.
