Hawaii: Senate bill for consumer data protection referred to Committees

On January 26, 2024, Senate Bill 3018 for the Consumer Data Protection Act was referred to the Committee on Commerce and Consumer Protection, and Committee on Judiciary, and Ways and Means. In particular, the bill would establish a framework to regulate controllers and processors with access to consumers' personal data, provide penalties, and establish a new consumer privacy special fund.
