EU: Commission requests feedback on Internet Governance consultation

On November 13, 2024, the European Commission requested public comments on Internet Governance. The Commission highlighted the objective of ensuring that the internet remains open, free, affordable, neutral, secure, and globally interconnected.

The Commission requested feedback on the biggest threats and challenges to an open and resilient internet, with examples including cybersecurity threats, disinformation and misinformation, and insufficient privacy protection. Regarding internet security and surveillance specifically, the Commission requested feedback on cybersecurity threats, and the most pressing challenges that organizations believe they will face in the future.

Public comments may be submitted until December 31, 2024.
