Benin: APDP publishes 2018 annual report
The Beninese data protection authority ('APDP') published, on 15 November 2019, its 2018 annual report ('the Report'). In particular, the Report highlights the legislative landscape for the protection of personal data, such as entry into force of Law No. 2017-20 of 20 April 2018 concerning the Digital Code, and the implications of the General Data Protection Regulation (Regulation (EU) 2016/679) ('GDPR') outside of Europe. In addition, the Report outlines the APDP's activities including its decisions and opinions. Furthermore, the Report notes that the APDP issued, in 2018, 48 authorisations, notices and statements.
