Argentina: AAIP publishes guidelines for the formulation of Personal Data Protection Plans of the CFT

On February 22, 2024, the Argentinian data protection authority (AAIP) announced that it had jointly developed and published, with the Federal Council for Transparency (CFT), guidelines for the formulation of a Personal Data Protection Plan.

In particular, the AAIP noted that the guidelines aim to help organizations and entities comply with regulations, manage data adequately, and implement proactive data responsibility measures.

Additionally, the AAIP highlighted that the guidelines promote ethical and responsible data use, contributing to safe and reliable environments for citizens. Furthermore, the AAIP mentioned that the document considered input from provinces that make up the CFT and aligns with the AAIP's proposed updates to the Personal Data Protection Law, aiming to harmonize national legislation with international standards and strengthen Argentina's data protection strategy.
